List of Brisbane Roar FC players
Brisbane Roar FC is an Australian football (soccer) team who currently play in the A-League, the national domestic association football competition. Formerly known as Queensland Roar FC, it was founded in 2004 as an inaugural member of the eight-team league.[1] The A-League competition consists of a regular season and a finals series of the top six teams, with the premiership being awarded to the club who finishes on top of the table in the regular season, and the championship to the winner of the Grand Final.[2] The Roar missed the finals in the first two A-League seasons, finishing sixth in 2005–06 and fifth in 2006–07 on goal difference to Sydney FC, who finished fourth. In the 2007–08 season the roar finished in 4th placed in the regular season and 3rd place after the finals series, and in 2008–09 the team finished 3rd on the ladder but again were eliminated in the finals, finishing 3rd.[3] The Roar would suffer their worst season to date in 2009-10, finishing 2nd last on the ladder of 10 teams. This would all change a season later, where the Roar would do the double by winning both the premiership and championship, topping the cake with an Australian sporting record of 28 unbeaten games, which still continues into the 2011-12 A-League season.
This list includes players that have played at least one match, either as a starting player or a substitute, for the Roar in the A-League competition and the finals series. The Pre-Season Cup competition is not included as well as the clubs 'off again on again' pre season Translink Cup. The Roar have had several players compete for them who have been capped at international level including a number for Australia. This includes the current record-holder for goals for the Australian national team, Damian Mori[4]
